Heated Water, Delivered With Force

Hot water extraction jet-streams heated water into the carpet under pressure. The water goes past the surface and down into the pile, where the soil that a vacuum cannot reach has been packed in by feet, furniture and time. Heat and force break that bond and push the soil up toward the surface.

The soil that gets forced to the surface is then vacuumed away. That is the whole point of the word extraction, and it is where a truck-mounted system separates itself from anything you can carry into a house by hand. The dirty water leaves the carpet and leaves your home in the truck.

A home shampooer cannot do this. It reaches the top of the pile, wets it, and pushes soil deeper into the carpet instead of pulling it out. The carpet looks better for a week or two. The soil is still down there, and now it is further down than it was.
