1. Schedule your rug pickup.
Contact Atiyeh Bros. to arrange your rug pickup and discuss your cleaning needs. Pickup and delivery services are scheduled by ZIP code, so our team can let you know when we’ll be in your area and provide the next available pickup date.
Our typical rug cleaning turnaround time is approximately two weeks. During peak seasonal periods, such as May, turnaround times may be longer. Orders requiring repairs or more extensive cleaning and restoration work may also require additional time.
2. We carefully handle your rugs.
When we arrive for pickup, our team will assess each rug’s material, construction, and condition, and review any findings or concerns with you. This assessment helps us identify potential issues and determine the most appropriate cleaning approach for each rug.
Our team will move most standard furniture items as needed and carefully roll your rugs for transport. We are unable to move pianos, pool tables, entertainment centers, or other oversized or specialty furniture. Please remove any personal, breakable, or fragile items from furniture and the surrounding area before our arrival.

Once cleaning is complete, we’ll coordinate your rug’s return. Our team will carefully unroll your rugs in your home and place them back where they belong. We’ll also move standard furniture items back into place, helping restore your space with a clean, fresh rug.

In order to ensure your rug’s integrity and beauty, we use the cleaning method best suited for it. Our cleaning method will depend on:

Odors & Stains
During pre-inspection we always ask if there are any spots or stains on your item(s), especially animal urine or mold/mildew. This helps us determine if we need to proceed with odor mitigation or whether we do a routine washing on the rug. If the rug does need odor mitigation, we give price quotes so you know exactly how much it costs. We soak the rugs in a pre-treating tank, eliminating bacteria and odors. We then wash the rug as usual and flush everything out leaving no residue.

Rug Cleaning Process
When you bring your area rug to Atiyeh Bros., a friendly and knowledgeable technician will greet you.
They’ll walk you through a pre-inspection process to determine any issues requiring special attention such as spills, stains, pet issues, and/or repairs.
Generally, your rug will be ready for pick up or delivery in 7-10 working days.
Pre-inspection
We’ll thoroughly inspect the rug and discuss your concerns (spots, odors, worn areas). After our ARCS certified technicians identify the rug’s type, we’ll assess the best method for cleaning, whether repairs are needed, and provide an exact cost quote before you leave.
Rug Duster
Embedded dirt can act like sandpaper, damaging the fibers of your rug. It’s important to get this out prior to washing. Studies show that 75% of carpet soil is non-soluble matter, which our rug dusting process removes. This removal cannot be accomplished at home.
Rug Washing
The rug washing process depends on the needs of your rug. In most cases, rugs are washed in our Quadra jet machine where we control the amount of water used, brush agitation, and type of cleaning solution – leaving your rug as clean as possible. We use an environmentally friendly, neutral soap solution and fresh, clean water leaving no residue on the rugs. Certain rugs will need to be hand-washed or dry-cleaned. Our technicians are skilled in both processes and will let you know if this is necessary during pre-inspection.
Stain and Odor Removal
(if necessary)
Our stain and odor removal process depends on the type of rug and substance of the stain. Our experienced technicians have seen just about everything and are able to recommend the best course of action during pre-inspection.
Dry Room
After washing, rugs are hung in our dry room with a direct-fire furnace, allowing us to control the temperature and humidity level for a faster drying time. Faster drying times are best for natural fibers and leave your rug with a softer feel.
Grooming & Final inspection
Once your rug is dry, it’s taken to our service floor for a grooming and final inspection, brushing the nap, and giving it a thorough vacuum. We also trim the fringe to give it a clean, uniform look. If any repair is needed, the rug is sent to our repair department. Otherwise, it’s rolled up and ready for pick-up or delivery.

Hand Washing
If during pre-inspection, our technicians determine a rug too delicate for our regular washing process, we may recommend a gentle hand washing using a low moisture or solvent method of cleaning.
For cases where we need to eliminate odors from your rug, we use a complete submersion process designed specifically to flush out the bacteria causing the problems. Once the rug is submerged, jet agitators are used to flush water gently through the rug, separating the soil and bacteria from the fibers. Once we are confident we’ve removed the odors, the rug will be rung out and placed in our dry room.
